Before his service at CBC, Rev. Richards faithfully served for over 30 years at First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica, Queens, NY. There, he was an Elder, Treasurer, board member of the First Jamaica Community and Urban Development Corporation, and a dedicated leader across ministries including marriage, prison, and mentoring. He also ministered to incarcerated women as a Supplied Minister at the Nassau Women’s Correctional Facility and played a pivotal role in community health initiatives like FPCJ’s Annual Prostate Cancer Screening Event.

Rev. Richards has also been called to shepherd congregations as an Interim Pastor and Supplied Minister at First Presbyterian Church of Far Rockaway and Cambria Heights Community Church. In these roles, he cast vision, preached and taught faithfully, coached and discipled leadership teams, and cultivated cultures of evangelism, discipleship, and community outreach. His work in these contexts exemplified his ability to guide churches through seasons of transition while keeping Christ’s mission at the center.

In addition to ministry, Rev. Richards brings over two decades of professional experience as an IT leader at Morgan Stanley, where his diligence, problem-solving, and organizational skills earned him recognition as a trusted and practical leader. This blend of corporate discipline and pastoral care has uniquely equipped him to serve the church with both spiritual wisdom and operational acumen.

Rev. Richards earned his Master of Divinity from New Brunswick Theological Seminary, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree at the same institution, furthering his commitment to theological depth and pastoral excellence.

With a heart for service, a mind for strategy, and a spirit rooted in Christ, Rev. Richards continues to serve faithfully as a pastor, teacher, mentor, and servant leader—committed to building God’s Kingdom and empowering His people.
